Dream Gate Project

The governmental Dream Gate Project launched in 2003 to boost entrepreneurship spirit in Japan is still trying to cheer up the procrastinators by having 100 participants share their thoughts and experience over a blog. It's a difficult job in a Japanese social relationship model context that definitely does not favor initiatives. Some would still call it a matter of culture. I would link them back again and again to a better and more reality matching view.
This page lists the courageous hundred with access to each of the blogs. There are supposedly more than 100, 000 people registered (it's free to register to the program) but hundred is a nice round figure. Just like school uniform, blogs have a seemingly unique format. But who cares. It is not the container, but the content that matters, right? I wonder what will happen with these blogs once the program is over in 2006. Anyway, there is the sarcastic view that a program like this has to be implemented by government civil servants - your typicial procrastinators - with a budget that certainly benefits a bunch of corporations that would usually shun at doing business with an individual young lad CEO who started a week ago. There is probably no better method here other than stirring and regulating creativity, that is giving it a chance, by providing a path and framework to try and thrive. It may feel lame but it's better than nothing and may prove efficient for the hardcore entrepreneurs that will survive and thrive.
